Receiver information needed to transfer money to a bank account via regular account payout:

  1. Name (first / last) – exactly the way it appears on your receiver’s state issued ID.
  2. Bank name
  3. Account number
    1. Account numbers in India can be 9 to 18 characters long. Double-check with your receiver to make sure you have the correct one.
  4. IFSC Code
    1. Indian Financial System Code (IFSC) is an 11-character code written in an alphanumeric format.
  5. Purpose of transaction

What is an IFSC code?

It is an 11- character code that can be found on Indian checks and other bank materials. Each bank branch and location have its own unique IFSC. Below is an example of what an IFSC code looks like: SBINXXXXXXX

Receiver information needed to transfer money to a bank account if sent via UPI payout:

  1. Name (first / last) – exactly the way it appears on your receiver’s state issued ID.
  2. UPI ID
  3. Purpose of Transaction

With UPI ID, there is no need to provide your receiver’s account number or IFSC. All you need is the information above, and your receiver can receive money in Real Time1.

UPI ID consists of customers name/surname combination, phone number or a phrase receiver created, separated by “@” and followed by designated bank name (Example: receiversid@ICICI).
